The Laura Nicholls Park in Santa Cruz de Bezana (Cantabria), designed by FDA Arquitectos, has won the Special Urban Space Award in the Architecture Awards from the College of Architects of Cantabria 2021.
At Hisbalit, we are especially proud of this recognition as Hisbalit mosaic tiles are one of the essential materials in the project, a landmark of Cantabrian architecture. The FDA studio chose eco-friendly mosaic tiles, manufactured in Cantabria to add colour, creativity and art to the playground.
The studio designed four striking designs inspired in the seasons and used to surface the canopies shading the park. A true spectacle of colour! They also created a number of murals located at one of the sides of the park.
Designs inspired in the seasons
To create these unique designs inspired by the seasons, FDA Arquitectos looked to the Art Factory Hisbalit personalisation service, offering infinite possibilities of colours, textures, formats and finishes. Each design of the canopies consists of over 1,000 pieces of mosaic tile installed by hand in our traditional factory in Soto de la Marina
Awards ceremony
Our colleague Nacho Sánchez, from the commercial department, was on hand at the College of Architects of Cantabria awards ceremony, held October 28th, to celebrate with Eva de la Fuente and Luis Fernández del Arco from FDA Arquitectos, who received the award. Many thanks for inviting us to share in such as special moment! Hisbalit is proud to provide a locally-produced, eco-friendly product to be a part of your project.
