On November 24th we were visited by 12 architecture and design studios from Cantabria, an enriching professional exchange that capped a series of visits to our facilities by architects, designers, students and the media throughout 2018.
The professionals were immersed in the world of Hisbalit, getting a close-up, first-hand, step-by-step look at how our tiles are manufactured, from the raw glass to the final mosaic tile and the infinite possibilities they offer for creating a space.
It was a very special day in the company of local professionals who were given a tour of what is currently the oldest operating tile factory in Europe by Nacho Sánchez, from our commercial department.
Hisbalit was founded in 1964 with five employees. It remains a family business although it has grown to include 84 permanent employees, and taking on seasonal employees up to a total of 130 people. The company’s sales and distribution networks extend to over 70 countries worldwide.
During the tour, the visitors stopped at each company department, giving them a sense of the handcrafted character of our mosaic tiles.
To conclude the visit, the architects and designers were given an insight into the principal applications of mosaic tiles, through a number of important interior design projects as well as a look at the main trends in mosaic tiles in the coming months.
A highly productive series of meetings to engage with professionals from the sector and that we will continue in 2019!
