Ever wonder what the dressing room of a superheroine of the future would be like? We have seen it! A fantasy of colours created with Hisbalit mosaic tiles, iridescent and velvety textures… This was the vision of the renowned interior designer Patricia Bustos for her futurist dressing room and it has been brought to life at Casa Décor 2019 in her space “Wonder Galaxy”!
Her “Osadía Rebel Kitchen”, with its spectacular floor by Hisbalit’s Art Factory, took the award for “Best Project at Casa Decor 2018”, as well as a Special Mention in the Espacio Más photography award. This year, the designer has again produced a striking project that inspires passions.
Inspired by the ground breaking aesthetic of the 1960’s and 1970’s, Patricia Bustos invites us into a world of colour and surrealism; a three-dimensional reality that invokes a sci-fi aesthetic while appealing to the rediscovery of the creative energies of childhood.
This “Futuristic Childhood Revival” questions why as adults we abandon fantasy and neglect our imagination to become serious and formal. The answer is to be found in colour, and the designer has made bold use of colours to inspire creativity.
For the surfaces of the Wonder Galaxy, Patricia Bustos looked to Hisbalit mosaic tiles, a highly versatile material she has used to explore new applications through a combination of formats, textures and finishes to transform the space into a unique and original experience.
To add a refreshing touch to the space, Patricia selected pink, blue and white tiles with a powder finish, one of the hallmarks of her work.
Hisbalit references in Wonder Galaxy
The floors and archway are surfaced in DOPPEL
For the floors and archway of the dressing room, the designer selected Hisbalit’s DOPPEL collection, with our new rectangular format that provides harmony and elegance to any space. The mosaic tiles adapt perfectly to the asymmetrical interplay of arches and volumes of the Wonder Galaxy.
Patricia decided on reference 568, with a matte white finish to give the dressing room a feel of infinite space and depth.
The most personal aspects of the space are the walls and the small tables, a MIX created by the designer (Mix15) using our mixtures configurator to produce a fusion of colours (pink, blue and white) suggesting an endless expanse of parallel realities and utopias, inviting us to dream without limits.
The bathtub, with soap bubbles is surfaced with pyramidal white mosaic tiles from Hisbalit’s Aniversario collection. These tiles have a relief deign that adds a very special touch to this bold and colourful dressing room by Patricia Bustos.
If you want to take a fist hand look at this dressing room of the future, don’t miss Casa Decor 2019!
“Wonder Galaxy” (space 41) is on the third floor of the building. It is open to visitors until March 10th, the final day of the 54th edition of this prestigious event in architecture and interior design.
