The “Black&White” design by Hisbalit’s Art Factory is the protagonist of this very special bathroom, recalling the chic style of the 1920’s

A retro inspired “anti-stress” home

Is there anything better than arriving home and feeling the calm wash over you? Today we’re taking a peek at a home renovated by the Espacio En Blanco Estudio that radiates magic and positive energy. An “anti-stress” home where we would all love to live!

This 140 m2 home is located on Calle Amigó in Barcelona. It belongs to a couple of restaurateurs and it was love at first sight… the size and the light were all perfect and they decided to do a complete renovation at the hand of Bárbara Aurell from Espacio En Blanco Estudio.

The colour white was cast as the protagonist by the interior designer. The reason? To create a home flooded with light. For the most important spaces, the kitchen and bathroom, she decided on a “Black & White” combination, adding a touch of daring and originality.

A kitchen with a special glow

The owners are true food lovers and wanted the kitchen to be the heart of their home. Thus, Bárbara Aurell designed a new layout centred on the kitchen.

She created a kitchen that is different, with a retro-chic style. Carefully choosing the décor, she decided on a combination of materials and colours: black and white, copper, with wood and pastel tones.

Aurell used custom wooden cabinets in white tones, incorporating an original shelving loaded with cook books. She also selected a number of antique elements, such as vintage copper lamps, and designer Smeg appliances. The result is unique combination creating a warm and welcoming kitchen that exudes a special glow.

The bathroom “The most personal space”

The bathroom is the most personal space in the home. A mosaic carpet welcomes us from the master bedroom and draws us into a space filled with charm. A bo-ho chic bathroom bursting with personality!

Estudio En Blanco were looking for a daring and elegant design for the mosaic tile floor and turned to Hisbalit’s Art Factory personalisation service to create an original Black&White design with a retro feel. Using hexagonal tesserae from Hisbalit’s Unicolor Collection, the designer created a sophisticated design of black flowers on a white background. Not a floor that will go unnoticed! The effect is a pleasing contrast with the white and wood of the cabinets.

For the sink, the designer chose the modern Napolés design by Bathco, with brass taps adding a touch of chic and glamour. Through her exquisite good taste and painstaking attention to detail, Bárbara Aurell creates an ambiance of 1920’s with a mirror evoking the Hollywood golden age.

The use of Hisbalit mosaic tiles to create the designer floor is repeated in the interior of the shower. The combination of black and white, provides a striking contrast to the Total White of the tiled walls. As an extra special touch, the designer included a number of retro glass jars, simulating the feel of those used in the apothecaries of old. An exclusive and vintage shower!

 A living room of experiences

The living room, in minimalist style, invites us to travel around the world and live new experiences! White is the protagonist of this room, on both floors and walls. Bárbara Aurell adds colour in the form of personal details. Travel books, from across the world, evoke the adventurous spirit along with colourful artisanal chairs that give a flavour of bohemian cool to the room.

A pop art touch is provided by a sign in black and white with the word “Drogueria” (Drugstore). It is this subtle and harmonious blending of styles that invites us to relax.

Vintage bedrooms

Minimalism is the hallmark of the three bedrooms of the home, warmly welcoming and luminous. The master bedroom is embellished with vintage details of metal and wood, a fusion creating an ideal atmosphere for perfect relaxation.

A captivating terrace!

A captivating terrace!

We finish our tour with one of the most important places in the home: the outdoor terrace, where we can reconnect with nature. With an excellent orientation, the terrace is the perfect corner to unwind, disconnect, enjoy a good read or dinner on a warm summer evening.

The custom white furnishings blend with the cream colours and the green of the plant, creating a soothing and inviting chromatic effect.
