Inclined terrain: problem or opportunity? Vazquez i Benages and Marta Folch show that pronounced inclines can present excellent opportunities for unique solutions for a designer home with Casa Tramuntana.

An inspired project designed with different volumes that blend harmoniously into the natural environment making maximum use of natural light.

The studio was commissioned to design a private dwelling on a site with an incline of over two metres from side to side. An essential characteristic of the project both for the home and for the outdoor space.

The house, designed and constructed by Marta Folch and Vazquez i Benages, respectively, is divided into two levels to adapt to the incline of the site, with two half-floors viewed from the entrance. One is a more social, daytime area connected to the garden and the pool; and the other a more intimate, evening space.

The designers created volumes that elegantly adapt to the characteristics of the landscape, highlighting the natural light and spectacular vistas of the area.

‘In & Out’ Connection

One of the most striking features of this 350 m2 home is the ‘in & out’ visual continuity thanks to the use of the same materials both indoors and outdoors. The result is a total connection of the interiors with the garden and pool.

The design is based on simple lines, neutral colours and all-natural materials, including eco-friendly mosaic tiles for the surfacing of the pool.

A designer pool with a mirror effect, the focal point of the home

The pool, surfaced in black, eco-friendly mosaic tile, becomes one of the most attractive features of the home. Its architectural forms, adapted to the uneven terrain, the mirror effect of the pool water and the spectacular views make this a jewel-like feature of the home. A social focal point where design plays a fundamental role.

To achieve this, the designers selected an avant-garde material, the MILO mosaic tile from the Aqualuxe collection by Hisbalit. The tesserae have an iridescent finish that changes colour with the light. In contact with the water, each piece shines like a gem, surrounded by a beautiful natural setting to produce a uniquely strikingly effect.

A unique and sophisticated pool with a striking colour of mosaic tile: pearlescent black. A dark, glittering colour that gives a very special look to the pool water, reflecting the landscape surrounding the pool.

A natural spectacle!

“The pools, gardens and terraces, apart from being places to relax and socialise, are essential decorative elements that greatly enhance the beauty of the project. With an attractive design, top-quality materials and the right location, these become the essential elements of the home”, notes Vazquez i Benages.
